Transparent flange

The transparent flange on the Shiley flexible tracheostomy tube allows direct visualization of the stoma and surrounding skin. The slight indent behind the flange and various airflow openings also may help promote healthier skin behind the flange.

Unique taper-shaped cuff

The clinician-inspired TaperGuard cuff on Shiley flexible tracheostomy tubes can:

• Reduce fluid leakage5
• Exert less lateral wall pressures on the trachea5
• Reduce air leaks around the cuff5

Integrated cuff inflation line and evac portal

• The fully integrated cuff inflation line and evac portal enable a smooth introduction of the cannula into the trachea.
• Together, the smooth cannula, TaperGuard cuff, and beveled tip may reduce the percutaneous insertion force.
• The cannula also features the familiar Shiley tracheostomy tube angle and a radiopaque X-ray line for monitoring position within the trachea.
